The New Year is well underway. The resolutions are forgotten or dusted under the mat somewhere. But does that mean you should stop challenging yourself and throw in the towel for 2014? Of course not. Instead of just talking about trying new things, we want to challenge you to walk the walk and start DO-ing. What better way to do this than with a series of ‘DO Challenges’ – four week-long activities that will spur you to embrace the year with the spirit of DO. Is it difficult? Not at all. We’ll challenge you to participate in any (or all) four different themes under Art & Design, Travel, Music and Photography. Challenge 1: “Capture First Light” We challenge you to interpret the first light of day. What this can be is totally up to you. The sunrise, a streetlight, a light bulb, the shadow of your first cup of coffee in the morning or the city lights on your early morning flight – you tell us. Take a picture and share it with us. Or share an old picture you took that you think captures this concept. Challenge 2: “Travel End to End” We challenge you to be spontaneous and adventurous by stepping out of your normal routine. Take that subway to another stop or travel to the other end of town, to the place you’ve always wanted to visit but never managed to go. What about traveling end to end on a bus line that you take every day. Capture your adventure through photos, by checking in at...

Lenovo community, we need your help. We're here in Barcelona for Mobile World Congress and our Lenovo Tablets have gotten themselves lost. They’re lonely, tired and have run out of battery. (Yes, it's been more than 18 hours so even the Yoga Tablet has given up.) Can you help us find and rescue them? They’ve managed to leave a few clues as to their location but it’s all very cryptic so we need your quick wit. From Tuesday to Thursday (February 25-27), we will reveal three clues per day hinting at where the tablets are hidden. The locations will be different each day as they disappeared in three different places. By the end of Thursday, you'll need to guess the 3 locations. Please help us before those tablets are done in by rain. (Or, worse yet, cats.) To join the game on Twitter, reply @Lenovo with the 3 locations and hashtag it #LenovoMWC To join on Instagram, comment @Lenovo with the 3 locations on any of our posts on Thursday and use the same hashtag #LenovoMWC Your heroics will not go unrewarded. Five super-smart sleuths, whom we’ll select from those who got all three locations correct, will be commended for their efforts and awarded a tablet of their own. (Don’t lose yours.) Keep your eyes peeled this Friday, February 28, as we will announce the lucky winners on Twitter and Instagram. Now let’s go find those tablets....

We recently held a Lenovo Hangout session a couple of weeks back on the New ThinkPad X1 Carbon with our product experts, Dilip Bhatia (VP ThinkPad Prod. Marketing), Alysia Baker (Prod. Marketing Manager), Chris Karaffa (Lenovo Advocate) and Raju PP (Tech Blogger). Relive the Experience below However, due to some technical faults, the Hangout prematurely ended and we know that there were a few questions which could not be answered in time. Well fret not, here are the answers! ANSWER: We’ve done a lot of user research about how to improve our keyboard and two trends stood out: Users wanted a simpler keyboard but still wanted all the functionality they were used to. This is why we developed the Adaptive Keyboard. By combining 40 shortcuts in a dynamically changing row, it brings the most pertinent shortcuts for the application to the forefront without taking away functionality. ANSWER: Yes, there will be an update to allow you to assign your own apps to the 4 rows. ANSWER: Absolutely. X1 Carbon is all about pushing boundaries and the newest generation is no exception. Everyone interacts with their devices differently and the we understand this. By having different interactive features, we allow users to personalize their experience in whatever way they work and play best. ANSWER: In addition to the new user interactive features like the Adaptive Keyboard, voice and gesture control, we also have improved basic...

Guest blog by Jane Loyless, Lenovo Forum Super Moderator. Lenovo has graciously invited me to come along to #CES2014 with them again this year!  Last year, I got to meet Andreas Gotthelf from here in the forum as well as Gavin O’Hara, David Roman and many of the other Lenovo employees.  This year, David Gross, Chris Karrafa and I are teamed up to represent the advocates, and I’m looking forward to meeting both of them.  Like Andreas did for me, I’ve been sharing tips with them for the trip (stay hydrated, wear comfortable shoes, get your Twitter account warmed up). If you followed the CES2013 board [Lenovo Forum] last year, you know that Andreas and I had pretty much free-rein in the Lenovo Lounge where all the products were on display, and we did our best to take pictures of every square inch of every product to share with you.  David, Chris and I will be doing the same thing this year. Last year, the Helix was the device that I was so attracted to – going back to it again and again to hold it, seeing how it felt in my hands, poking at the screen, checking out the latch mechanism.  I can’t wait to see what will be unveiled this year.  I’ve seen the phone announcement that went out a couple of days ago, and I think there will be more announcements this afternoon (writing this on Sunday morning). What are we going to see?  Will there be a new multi-function device building off the...
