It's now the Tuesday after our first North American Channel Partner Forum, Accelerate 2011 and we have a few minutes to reflect on what has occurred over the past few days. In this time, we hosted more than 400 partners who were ready and willing to learn and to provide feedback to us on a multitude of things ranging from technologies to services. A short recap of the event...112 breakout sessions, 6 keynotes from Lenovo Executives, media, John Elway, and products galore. It was a virtual whirlwind of Lenovo channel activity. We hope that you have seen through this effort the commitment that Lenovo is making to the channel and are inspired to lead with Lenovo. And on to the goodies. Matt Kohut and Stephen Miller, two of Lenovo’s product gurus, took the stage on the last day of Accelerate 2011 in Las Vegas to provide an enlightening and humorous look at how Lenovo builds products to withstand the torture of everyday use. They talked about how Lenovo tests products for drops and then showed first hand what happens to a ThinkPad X1, Lenovo's new thin and light laptop, when dropped from high above the conference floor! The answer? Nothing. The X1 still worked as Stephen and Matt played a game of Angry Birds on the just-dropped machine.

Things just finished here on the final day of Accelerate 2011. Chris Frey took to the stage to wrap up the 3-day event in the last, but lively General Session presentation. Chris asked the audience to measure whether or not the event was a success with a round of applause, and the response was outstanding. He then went on to thank all of the partners for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend Accelerate 2011. Chris then invited Matt Kohut and Stephen Miller, two of Lenovo’s product gurus, to the stage to provide an enlightening and humorous look at how Lenovo builds products to withstand the torture of everyday use. The last of the Buzz Sessions wrapped up this morning before the final General Session presentation began. These 25-minute, focused sessions were designed to get key points across to our partners and the feedback from those in attendance has been positive. One Buzz Session in particular that took place this week was led by David Rabin, Director of Channel and Retail Marketing. David's Marketing Session focused on many of the enablement tools available to help partners sell Lenovo. A lot of David’s time was spent on the revamped channel partner portal known as Lenovo Partner Network, which houses all of the tools and resources a partner would need to do business with Lenovo. David also discussed some of the new product-focused tools, like Lenovo QuickPick, which matches up a product with the right options to make it easy for partners to stack profitable accessories onto any deal.
