ThinkPad Helix: Our “Rip and Flip” Premium Convertible
Get ready to turn heads at your next meeting. Introducing ThinkPad Helix—the premier convertible for business users featuring Ultrabook specs, a powerful sleek Think design, and the Windows 8 OS.
Today is the second major product release for Lenovo at CES in Vegas and it’s all about convertibles—introducing ThinkPad Helix. This is the premier convertible for business users. It features an 11.6” 10-point multi-touch screen with pen touch and Gorilla Glass, a bright 400nit IPS panel that has a 1920x1080 resolution, and 10 hours of battery life to keep you going for an entire workday. This Ultrabook convertible adds to the momentum of convertible products we released in October. ThinkPad Helix is built around a simple “rip and flip” design so users can swiftly go from Ultrabook to tablet. And it is designed to take full advantage of the newly released, touch-optimized Windows 8 OS with a new five-button glass clickpad. ThinkPad Helix combines the stealth design of the Think brand and powerful processors from Intel—both of which make this the ultimate machine for mobility and getting the job done.
“What about the ThinkPad Tablet 2,” you ask? Good question. Both ThinkPad Helix and ThinkPad Tablet 2 come from the same brand family of Think but they are two different beasts. ThinkPad Helix is first a business-class Ultrabook and then, when separated from the keyboard, it becomes a tablet. It’s built for people who need a powerful PC that can then provide tablet functionality—complete with up to 3rd Gen Intel® Core i7 processor. ThinkPad Tablet 2 does share some of the same features of Helix but it is a tablet first, which can then be converted into a tablet. Each serves its own role for business users, and has its own special place in the Think family.
ThinkPad Helix also features near field communication, or NFC. This technology lets the user transfer data and information between devices with a simple “tap to do.” By putting a smartphone or other device within a close distance to Helix, users can communicate between computers very easily. NFC is rapidly being adopted in the business environment because of the ease-of-use and time saving benefits.
Overall, this business machine is designed to take full advantage of Windows 8 and empower users to work smarter, not harder. With the trusted Think brand and Lenovo technology behind this machine, users can begin to adopt this new technology into the business environment with confidence.
Say hello to ThinkPad Helix—how business gets done.
