According to a recent study by TBR, which surveyed 440 IT executives, Lenovo’s ThinkStation workstations are more reliable than its competitors over a typical three year lifecycle and require 21% fewer repairs than average systems ensuring our customers have less downtime. As a Lenovo ThinkStation team member, I was proud to read these findings; however, I would be lying if I said I was surprised. Our team understands the vital role workstations play to organizations often running critical applications including medical imaging, financial trading software and intricate product design. This is why we take the design and engineering process of our ThinkStation so seriously to build both high performing and reliable devices.

So what makes Lenovo ThinkStation’s so reliable? Well, reliability starts with keeping the system and its interior components cool and secure, which makes them less likely to fail. ThinkStations are designed to provide maximum airflow over key components, bringing cool air in and making sure hot air exits. Featuring a HexPerf design, this honeycomb shape in the Lenovo ThinkStations allows more air to enter the system than a simple circular pattern. Tri-channel cooling technology in the ThinkStation C-Series, keeps components running 5-8 degrees cooler than other workstations, boosting reliability and performance.

To further increase reliability, ThinkStation engineers also focus on how to keep the components from being damaged. ThinkStations are placed under vigorous testing to ensure components can endure transportation, sudden movements or even the most demanding working environments.

And proof of this reliability is also being recognized by Lenovo customers. At Whirlpool, lead product designers are able to spend more time designing and less time worrying about their workstations. They can boot up in less than one minute and complete model checks 30% faster than previously, but most importantly, experience absolutely zero crashes.

From thermal management, patented designs to extensive lab testing, ThinkStations are designed to have less downtime for repairs and more uptime to DO more.
