Yoga Takes NYC Part 2: On Tour at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair

The IdeaPad Yoga 11S had a big week, first with its website availability on May 16, then by heading to New York City to hang out at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).  We attended ICFF for the first time to show off our latest Horizon Table PC and the three custom tables we had created for it. We had some fun with the fashion-forward Yoga: it turned heads at the show, and even made itself home in some home-design booths at the Javits Center.

Yoga kicks back and relaxes after a hard day of working the ICFF floor.

Right next door to Lenovo, Yoga checked out the latest bath designs from Kohler

Yoga picked up some sweet swag during ICFF.

Flanking the other side of the Lenovo booth, Yoga tested out a stylish seat and pillow from Gabriel Scott, and picked up a tote bag designed by Jamie Derringer, editor of Design Milk

Comfort to the extreme; Yoga cozied up on this plush velvet green couch from IKEA.

Ever a fan of the affordable, global furniture brand IKEA, Yoga was enamored with this emerald green couch from its new Stockholm Collection and kicked back for a rest in laptop mode.

This canopied loveseat brings a breath of fresh air indoors.

Their motto is “in-outdoor living furniture” and it certainly is. Bringing the outdoors inside during ICFF, Sifas showed off some beautiful pieces from its Kocoon collection (in the Flower print).

Perfect for music playback in stand mode, Yoga listened intently to these eye-popping speakers designed with the early 20th century in mind.

The Oswalds Mill Audio booth was abuzz with audiophiles, design gurus and sound hounds as they listened to the music emanating from these “throwback speakers” – talk about old meets new. The design inspiration is a century old, but the audio technology is as current as it gets.

A cuddling enthusiast’s dream, Yoga nestles in with all of these “fab” throw pillows at the Fab.com booth. This scene puts Yoga ready to snuggle up with a book in stand or tent mode.

Yoga takes it all in; the Fab.com booth is a feast for the eyes and senses with shoes, décor and more in every color and pattern imaginable. Our Clementine Orange Yoga would have blended in well here.

Yoga was very impressed with Fab.com, an online site that makes design accessible for everyone. Featuring fabulous finds for everything from home décor, to sweet clothing, food, gifts and anything in between, this site is on the top of everyone’s mind as a go-to for must have items.

Yoga’s view from the top at the Commonhouse Furniture booth during ICFF.

Yoga got a nice view from the Commonhouse Furniture booth. Founder and designer Shawn Sowers perched Yoga up high on this wood bookshelf to get a view from the top shelf. The designer’s motto is “Simple. Familiar. Good.” Words to live by in the world of design.

Yoga snuggles up with several new friends at the Accent/Craftholic booth.

Yoga cuddled up at Craftholic, a line of plush and whimsical characters and soft products including blankets from Accent, a truly up and coming design line. Accent is a Tokyo-based interior goods and lifestyle company. These softer-than-butter stuffed characters can be found in a few stores in New York City including Kidding Around, Blue Tree and Toy Space.

Overall, Yoga, and all of our team, had a great time checking out some of the latest furniture and home accessories at ICFF showing that design is all around us.
