Earlier this year, some of our customers noticed that the plastic trim bezel began separating from the LCD on some models of the X61 tablet and began discussing it in forums here, and subsequently refined the issue a bit more in this thread, and this one here. Some of our customers shared their observations through comments on previous Lenovoblogs posts. As we investigated the underlying cause of the issue that affected a minority of the X61 tablets, we advised the community to seek service if they experienced the bezel separation and found the issue distracting. We also advised that existing repair parts of that time might not provide a permanent fix in all cases, and our engineering teams were working toward that goal. We appreciated the patience and help provided by those who documented their experiences, and in some cases, shared their systems with us for analysis. Thank you. We have released a fix in the form of a revised bezel, with thicker adhesive tape designed to compensate for the somewhat thinner SXGA+ display. These parts are now in stock, and are being applied through normal service routes. Additional information including service part numbers may be found here. Customers who have an X61t system with a separating bezel should seek service at this time through all normal channels including depot, onsite, or through business partners depending upon the warranty terms available for their system. Thank you once again for your helpful thoughts and support as we worked this issue to resolution.
