Recently, StorageReview.com came to us because they wanted to use Lenovo ThinkServer rack servers in their test lab. StorageReview.com is an independent storage authority that provides news coverage and detailed reviews on hard drives, SATA/SAS and PCIe SSDs, flash memory, and the related hardware and software that makes these storage solutions work.
They were looking for reliability and interoperability in their varied hardware environment to run the enterprise workloads they test on a regular basis. StorageReview.com found ThinkServer was up to the task and said, “The ThinkServer RD630 has proven itself to offer great compatibility with third-party devices, making it an excellent go-to platform for this diverse testing environment.”
You may not know this, but Lenovo is the largest PC maker in the world and an emerging PC Plus leader, with customers in more than 160 countries. However, Lenovo is relatively new to the server business in North America. We have put emphasis on x86 servers and are investing aggressively to expand in this market around the world.
So we are very excited that StorageReview.com wanted to use ThinkServer. One of the main design strategies for ThinkServer is leveraging industry-standard protocols because we know that customers have heterogeneous environments and being “open” is critical when adding or replacing infrastructure. This quote from StorageReview.com was a great proof point!
