Revamped: The Updated Lenovo Pre-Sales Advisor Tool

One of the things we pride ourselves on here at Lenovo is the ability to digest and implement feedback from our partners and end users. While David Hill generated a ton of incredible consumer feedback with his Retro ThinkPad surveys, we at the Lenovo Partner Network have been working hard to apply your feedback and dramatically improve the Lenovo Pre-Sales Advisor tool (“PSAT”). I’m excited to say that we’ve now rolled out the latest Lenovo Pre-Sales Advisor tool and it’s more integrated and user-friendly than ever before. How so?

Well, one of our main goals with this revamp was to make the process of developing a configuration faster and more efficient, so that you can turn quotes around as fast as possible. The biggest advancement we’ve made to that end is the integration of System x and ThinkServer options in ONE unified tool. Instead of having to navigate one version of the tool for System x and another version for ThinkServer, you can now navigate all possible offerings within one interface. We know how critical this seamlessness is for getting a configuration built and turned around quickly.

We’ve also clarified the information within the tool so that it’s easy to navigate and process. Now, you’ll be able to see which products are in stock, what the focus and promotional models are, which hardware will ship the fastest, and the availability of distribution by geography…all at a glance. You can also sort by multiple dynamic filters, including form factor, processor, storage capacity, and competitive comparison.

We know it’s important for you to give your customers maximum flexibility in their configuration within a tight timeline. With that in mind, we’ve improved the speed, accuracy and confidence level of configurations that populate within the tool. You’ll now be able to develop all usable configurations with the security of knowing that the tool will alert you to any inappropriate configurations (i.e. creating servers with mutually exclusive ports or installing more drives than the system can contain). This should help you quickly build sellable systems. The cherry on top? You can now send your configurations to your distributor right from within the tool, turning a multiple day long process into a matter of hours.
