If you visited our forums in the last two weeks you probably noticed that the familiar old blue scheme has been replaced by a fresh design that mirrors the updates here on Lenovoblogs which debuted earlier this year.
There was a neat story behind the old blue scheme that I had hoped at one time to tell here on connections, but other priorities always seemed to get the better of me and I just never got around to it. It was a story about bringing together some of the best ideas from three different design teams from around the world and creating a great blend. At the time, we talked a lot about "Worldsourcing" and I always thought it was a great example of how well that can actually work in a global company.
But, that was then and this is now. We decided to synchronize the appearance updates with the deployment of some new features - notably our new five tab navigation structure which improves ease of access to the discussion forums, the integrated community knowledge base, along with Lenovoblogs, shopping, and support and downloads. We took advantage of these capabilities to enable our new Spanish community - Communidad en Espanol as the new navigation and language selection elements really went well together. Interestingly, this update was accomplished as collaborative effort amongst several of our volunteer moderators and members from Lenovo's social media and e-support teams, who worked together on the appearance and many of the functional details. Stay tuned -- more great stuff will be rolling out shortly!
