Strengthening a Global Community: Lenovo, Foundry and THU Team Up for a European Tour

Proud to Sponsor the THU Gatherings

For the last two years, Lenovo Workstations have been working closely with the media and entertainment industry to provide support to the digital artist community. Part of that support has been as the main sponsor of Trojan Horse was a Unicorn, a yearly festival for digital artists.  As we explained last year, investing in THU and digital artists is not only good for business, it’s good for the soul.

Through the THU events, we’ve learned so much, shared even more, and really been moved by the community and their creative spirit.

This year, we wanted to take our partnership with THU to the next level.  To do that, we needed more firepower.  We needed another partner who not only shares our vision to help digital artists reach their full potential, but is also a true innovator with world-class solutions.  In this respect, bringing in Foundry is a natural fit.

Foundry designs creative software technologies used to deliver award-winning visuals effects and 3D content for the design, visualization and entertainment industries.

They are a recognized brand and highly trusted by digital artists.

Foundry also understands empowering digital artists goes beyond hardware and software.  It means giving artists a place to learn, be inspired, and collaborate.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Lenovo and Trojan Horse was a Unicorn to showcase the incredible talent that exists in the realm of digital art,” said Jodie Anderson, Head of Marketing, Foundry. "Foundry is committed to supporting the next generation of talent and inspiring new artists to enter the industry. We’re excited to see the digital art community grow thanks to events like THU."

This is why Lenovo, Foundry, and THU will be traveling around the world in a series of roadshows, meant to address the issues, trends, and technologies shaping the future of digital art. These roadshows, known as THU Gatherings, will kick off next month starting in Europe, with planned stops in London, Berlin and Paris. More information around each event will be announcing in the coming weeks.

The Founder of THU, Andre Luis added, "It’s an incredibly huge step and honor having Lenovo and Foundry working together with us. This partnership will help provide the creative community with the education and access they need to be successful."

Consistent with THU, this is not really a series of events, but, instead these Gatherings are experiences.

Each Gathering will bring premier guest speakers to talk about thought-provoking topics such how to close the gap between film and TV in animation, reaching potential as a newcomer in the gaming market, and invisible VFX. Everyone in attendance will get their chance to express their views and in turn shape the future of the industry. These experiences will also be a great way for the community to network, gain insights across industries, and see live demos to keep them at the top of their game.

We are excited and humbled to be working alongside Foundry and THU to help promote and engage this inspiring community. Because again, investing in artists is not just good for business, it’s good for the soul.
