This is a really exciting time to be at Lenovo. We are relatively new to the x86 server space and admittedly, we have a ways to go. But that’s also the great part. We get to figure it all out. It’s like being at a start-up, but with the backing of a $34B company.
My area in Lenovo is called Enterprise Product Group or EPG as we affectionately refer to it. We just announced that we will invest approximately $100M in a state-of-the-art research and devleopment center in São Paulo, Brazil. The center is a first-of-a-kind for Lenovo, missioned with providing innovative, high-value software solutions, high-end servers, storage, cloud technologies and services to global markets. It joins other Lenovo enterprise design centers, which are located in the United States, Taiwan, and China. The São Paulo-based Lenovo R&D center will be installed at the University of Campinas (Unicamp) Science and Technology Park located roughly 60 miles from São Paulo City. This announcement strengthens Lenovo’s position as a market leader and continues to build on our enterprise credibility. Check out the press release for more information.
