This is part of a new weekly series featuring content written by the Lenovo Companion App Content Team
Your Windows 8/8.1 Lenovo system comes packed with state-of-the-art applications that make the things you do every day faster, easier and more enjoyable. Here are five you don’t want to miss:
No more digging through folders or switching devices to find the content you own. ReachIt consolidates all your files into one easy-access tool. This app reaches across multiple cloud storage services—Box, Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive—to provide a consolidated view of all the content you store digitally, from Windows PC to Android (and soon, iOS too). Now you can access ALL your files in one place. Instantly, easily and with a single search box.
Our most popular app makes data sharing faster than ever. SHAREit lets you send huge files from PC to smartphone to tablet using a direct connection at remarkably high speed (up to 40 times faster than Bluetooth). And it works across Android, iOS and Windows. There's no need to carry around a USB key anymore.
With SHAREit, you can quickly transfer even your biggest files to friends’ and coworkers’ devices when they have the app installed and are within close range, without the need for a mobile or network connection. Devices connect directly without wires, and automatically find each other when in range. You can share pictures, videos, documents, contacts and more without worrying about file size limits. It’s fast, free and user-friendly.
Since you’ve been reading some content from the Lenovo Companion app over the past several weeks here on Lenovo Blogs, this app doesn’t need too much of an introduction. We know your system’s best features should be easy to access and understand. With Companion, they are.
This app is filled with exclusive content to help you learn about your new Lenovo or Think system. You'll find quick-reference “how to” articles on everything from getting to know the preloaded apps on your system to how to use your new trackpad. And, in select countries, you'll be able to stay up-to-date on technology news with articles and blogs from trusted sources, partners and Lenovo Insider bloggers.
You can find Lenovo Companion on your system in the Lenovo Apps section on the Windows Start Screen.
Available on most systems, Lenovo Settings makes it easy to adjust the features and accessories you use most often, like speakers and keyboards. It serves as a quick-access control center where you can configure everything from cameras to fingerprint readers.
Use Lenovo Settings to completely personalize your system: Enhance your video and audio experiences, get the most out of your battery and even control how your system behaves in certain locations.
You can have your web homepage change, for example, after you leave the office and arrive at home. Best of all, this user-friendly app takes mere seconds to modify to your liking.

Lenovo System Update
No more time-consuming searches for the most current drivers, firmware or security updates. Lenovo System Update does it for you, and can be set to install the most critical updates automatically so you don’t have to think about them.
This app intelligently checks servers to select the updates needed by your specific device, and then classifies them from “critical” to “optional.” Once you’ve set a schedule, all that’s required by you is a click here and there to ensure your system is always protected and operating at peak performance.
More Great Apps on the Way
The Lenovo team is constantly innovating and creating new apps to make your experience the best it can be. Stay tuned for more great options coming soon.
