A New Standard in Performance is on Display at Autodesk University.

At Autodesk University, Lenovo is taking a huge step toward those pursuits, by announcing support for the new NVIDIA Quadro Pascal GPU architecture, on the Lenovo ThinkStation P910, P710, P510 and P410 workstations. 

The most powerful workstation GPUs from NVIDIA, the Quadro P6000 and P5000 offer major enhancements making it possible for engineers, designers, and digital artists to better visualize and iterate on their designs faster, for greater creativity.  Quadro Pascal also includes new VR technologies such as Simultaneous Multi-Projection, which doubles the graphics throughput for stereo rendering.

As part of the Diamond Sponsorship at Autodesk University, we are showcasing new technologies utilizing the increased performance of the Pascal platform, in booth #2278.  Demonstrations include:

Autodesk Future of Making Things Pavilion: Running on a Lenovo ThinkStation P910 with a NVIDIA Quadro P6000, ten virtual reality stations will be demonstrating the assembly of a concept car in a virtual world using Autodesk software and 3D models. Users are completely immersed in a virtual building with a trainer and can interact with the car completing tasks such as selecting body panels and attaching them to the car.

Lenovo Virtual Reality Interactive Zone: Immersed in a 3D model, this multi-person experience begins with two users interacting in a design review while two other users share the same VR experience. A fifth person interacts with an avatar to learn how to choose components to set up their own VR systems. All this is powered by Lenovo ThinkStation P510 and P710 workstations  and implemented by our VR solution partner WorldViz.

Lenovo Booth #2278: Attendees can witness the powerful combination of Lenovo ThinkStation workstations and the latest NVIDIA Pascal technology through the work of our ThinkRevolutionists, MX3D and The Hydrous.  MX3D uses Lenovo workstations and Autodesk Maya® to develop groundbreaking robotic 3D printing technology.  The Hydrous relies on Lenovo workstations and Autodesk Remake to 3D map and monitor coral reef growth, to gain insights into the health of the world’s oceans.

In addition to the increased performance of the NVIDIA Pascal platform graphics cards, we have also improved the user experience of our workstations. 

ThinkStations featuring a FLEX Drive Bay, will now allow users to add a drive through a new front access enclosure with Blind Connect technology.  This removes the hassle of having to open the side chassis in order to install the drive.

We have made improvements to the Lenovo Performance Tuner, a software tool enabling customers to fine-tune their individual experience based on software demands.  The new version features a more intuitive user interface and the ability to detect which CPU core(s) are utilizing Intel® Turbo Boost Max 3.0.  We’ve made it easier to find, select, and configure custom profiles. 

Additionally, ThinkStation workstations will now include Microsoft Windows Signature preload.  This new preload is optimized to provide the best performing Operating System, while also providing a cleaner, Enterprise-Ready preload image.

ThinkStation workstations powered by the NVIDIA Quadro P6000 and P5000 graphics cards will be available in early December.
