As a software product manager, Mike Matthews, works on offerings for businesses large and small, as well as for the digital home. His latest project is the 2.0 version of SimpleTap, an application that helps manage the increasingly blurring boundaries between work and home. His latest project is the upcoming 2.0 version of SimpleTap, an application that helps manage the increasingly blurring boundaries between work and home. Building on the SimpleTap 1.0 experience When SimpleTap launched, it began as a touch-screen-friendly, user interface for adjusting the settings on our ThinkPad laptops through the concept of “tiles”. Tiles offer a very visual, simple and intuitive way to change the hardware settings. For example, you could easily change the volume, or adjust microphone, camera, wireless, or other settings. Of course SimpleTap 2.0 still does that, but soon it will do much more. Best of all, 2.0 will make it easy for you to personalize your experience to suit your needs both at work and at home. And it won’t be just for ThinkPad laptops with touch screen displays anymore – Think-branded PCs will include SimpleTap 1.3 starting this spring and will receive the 2.0 update when available this summer.
