Our first day of Buzz Sessions just wrapped up and everyone is now heading to Mandalay Beach for our evening event. Each Buzz Session is 25 minutes and is focused on communicating key points from products to industry trends to Lenovo programs. A key focuses for Lenovo this year, ThinkStation and ThinkServer, both had a breakout session for their portfolios. Rick Rudd, ThinkStation Product Manager shared the new product portfolio and why partners may choose ThinkStation as their choice for a workstation. ThinkServer Product Manager Russ Jenkins introduced the new ThinkServer product portfolio and key programs to help partners seize this opportunity to grow in an untapped area. Other sessions detailed how to lead with Lenovo, how to accelerate business with Lenovo and technology that will affect business. The last Buzz Session tracks will wrap up tomorrow before the final general session, which still has people from last year talking.

Lunch just wrapped up here at day two of Accelerate and gave our partners another chance to walk the product showcase. Partners continued to speak with our alliance partners and sponsors, as well as see the latest product offerings from Lenovo. The ThinkPad station was especially busy as partners got there chance to see the just announced ThinkPad X1 Carbon up close and personal. View more images of this hot new product on our Flickr page. New this year in the product showcase is a giant display in the middle of the room where we are projecting graphics created on the fly by a graffiti artist who is using Lenovo touchscreen products. Featured artist Juan Dimida hails from Philadelphia, PA, blending pop art and graphic design. His art is part post-modern mixed with mural and leans more towards techno than tagging. His work features jagged lines and box shaped creatures. Juan will be at Accelerate through Wednesday showcasing his talents to partners. We kicked off our first Accelerate general session today at 8:00 a.m. with things wrapping up around noon. Partners heard from key Lenovo executives and received exciting industry, product and branding news. Lenovo continues to grow in the channel, not only by the number of registered Lenovo partners and revenue. As reiterated by each speaker, Lenovo’s success depends on our partnership with the channel. David Schmoock, SVP general manager, North America, shared objectives for 2012 with a focus on SMB, services, public sector and server and workstation. Leveraging success in the channel, Tom Looney, vice president and general manager, North America, who is responsible for Lenovo’s enterprise, public sector and federal business shared market share growth within this key segment and winning strategy for 2012. ; Vice President and General Manager, ThinkPad Business Unit Dilip Bhatia showcased the CES superstars and reviewed a myriad of new products from Lenovo from all lines including ThinkPad classic,...

As partners walked into Foundation Room for the Accelerate kickoff event co-sponsored by Tech Data and Ingram, partners were greeted by a Buddha holding a Lenovo E430. What a way to welcome partners! Foundation Room provided a breathtaking view of the Las Vegas strip from atop Mandalay Bay. But if that wasn’t enough, wide receiver Jerry Rice was in attendance to meet and greet with partners. The energy was high during the kickoff event, and we expect it to continue to build tomorrow during our first general session, which kicks off at 8:00 am.
