The New ThinkPad X1 Carbon

Lenovo has unleashed the New ThinkPad X1 Carbon – the world’s lightest 14-inch ultrabook. Perfect for business users who want a laptop with high performance technology, mobility and durability, the New ThinkPad X1 Carbon joins Lenovo’s premium business portfolio. Thinner and lighter than the first iteration of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and weighing just 2.8 pounds, this upgrade offers new technologies including 10-point multi-touch display, voice and gesture control that allow for seamless user interaction, and an Adaptive Keyboard that offers almost twice the number of functions of the original ThinkPad X1 Carbon. The Adaptive Keyboard adjusts based on the software or application being used to highlight the most relevant keys. Enhancing user experience was paramount for Lenovo’s designers when creating the New ThinkPad X1 Carbon which is why we included features like the ColorBurst WQHD 2560x1440 display, providing vibrant images at higher resolutions with even more detail. To maintain this display, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon features a Rapid-Charge battery that lasts up to nine hours while unplugged, and also recharges up to 80 percent in under one hour. For mobility and connectivity, the New ThinkPad X1 Carbon offers BlueTooth 4.0, Near Field Communication (NFC), optional built in 4G capability, and additional USB ports. Lenovo INfluencers with Chief Marketing Officer David Roman During IFA 2013

Lenovo INfluencers with Chief Marketing Officer David Roman During IFA 2013

Each year, Lenovo participates in major consumer electronics shows around the world in a big way. This week, we are at IFA in Berlin to unveil some of our latest PC+ devices. To help us get the word out, we took along  several members of the Lenovo Influencer Network (IN) including Andreas Gotthelf. In the post below, Andreas shares his perspective on the events and experiences in his two days at IFA with Lenovo. (Translated from German.) This year’s IFA is simply the most stunning electronics show I have seen yet. I’m one to know that since I went to CES 2013 in January. The press conference on day one was very crowded with over 200 journalists closely listening to Lenovo´s executives. Of the many products introduced, my favorites are both convertibles: the Yoga 2 Pro and ThinkPad Yoga, despite Lenovo announcing  many new offerings in  their product portfolio including smartphones and tablets. The Yoga 2 Pro offers a great screen with amazing  resolution,  the world’s highest  at 3200X1800  pixels (QHD+). Also, it’s thinner and lighter than the previous 13- in Yoga and even has  a backlight keyboard too. Here you see a picture, featuring Nick Reynolds showing our group the new Yoga 2 Pro. But if you are a business user you´ll have different needs than a consumer, like rigidity or docking capability. That’s why Lenovo made the ThinkPad Yoga. The chassis is made of magnesium...

The home of the future looks – in one word, “integrated.” More so than ever before, traditional home design and technology are fused. We’re seeing it now with smart refrigerators and washers, but soon, furniture will fuse with PCs, like the Horizon PC in the AT-UM Table – part desk, part easel and part stand. You can catch a glimpse of tomorrow’s home today at trend innovation company, PSFK’s Future of Home Living Exhibit, in New York City at Stonehenge’s new 101 building in Chelsea.  The brainchild of PSFK’s Future of Home Living Report, the exhibit brings together many cool futuristic design concepts and tech products for urban living, including the Nest Thermostat and Hapifork, a Bluetooth-enabled eating utensil. Lenovo’s own IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC will be in the AT-UM table from UM Project’s Francois Chambard. In May, we showcased the possibilities for integrated design at the 2013 International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) by teaming...
